Daimler Trucks
At this year’s IAA Auto Show, Daimler Trucks exhibited the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600, the new generation Actros L, and the Mercedes-Benz GenH2 hydrogen fuel cell truck.

Among them, the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 pure electric long-distance heavy-duty truck is developed based on the Mercedes-Benz eActros LongHaul exhibited at IAA 2022. It is reported that the vehicle is equipped with 3 sets of 207kWh lithium iron phosphate battery packs, constituting a total energy reserve of 621kWh. Under standard full-load conditions, the eActros 600 has a range of more than 500 kilometers, and after 10 years/1.2 million kilometers of operation, the battery health can still be maintained at more than 80%.
The new generation Actros L shares a new platform with the eActros 600 heavy-duty long-distance electric truck, and introduces a new ProCabin low-drag cab, with a drag coefficient reduced by 9% compared to the previous generation cab, which brings a 3% improvement in fuel economy to the new generation Actros L.
In terms of power, the new generation of Mercedes-Benz Actros L uses a traditional diesel power train and can be equipped with the third-generation OM 470, OM 471 (main configuration) and OM 473 series engines, with a maximum horsepower of up to 625 horsepower and a maximum torque of up to 3000N·m. In addition to the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 and the new generation Actros L, the Mercedes-Benz GenH2 hydrogen fuel cell truck also made its debut. It is the first hydrogen fuel cell heavy truck under Mercedes-Benz, based on the fourth-generation Mercedes-Benz Actros. The vehicle uses liquid hydrogen as “fuel” instead of the gaseous hydrogen commonly found on other hydrogen fuel cell heavy trucks. The Mercedes-Benz GenH2 hydrogen fuel cell heavy truck has hydrogen storage tanks set on the left and right sides of the chassis, with a single tank capacity of 44 kg and a total capacity of 88 kg. In Mercedes-Benz’s actual test, the GenH2 hydrogen fuel cell heavy truck achieved a single-filling range of 1,047 kilometers, and its performance is comparable to that of a diesel truck.
Volvo Trucks
Volvo Trucks will bring its global product range to the 2024IAA exhibition, including pure electric heavy-duty trucks such as Volvo FH Aero, Volvo FMX, Volvo FM, and Volvo FE, as well as fuel cell heavy-duty trucks and internal combustion engine heavy-duty trucks using renewable fuels, totaling 8 products.

It is worth noting that the Volvo FH16 Aero model is equipped with the new D17 17-liter high-efficiency engine, which improves power while reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

At the same time, the new Volvo VNL long-head heavy-duty truck based on a new platform was also unveiled. This model is equipped with breakthrough autonomous driving technology and has been released in the U.S. In addition, Volvo Trucks also exhibited its upcoming electric drive axle technology, which is a new technology customized for Volvo Trucks’ next generation of pure electric and fuel cell heavy-duty trucks, which can achieve longer driving range while bringing better driving performance.

It is reported that many Volvo trucks exhibited at the IAA exhibition are equipped with Volvo’s new electronic rearview mirror system (CMS). This technology can not only significantly improve fuel efficiency by optimizing aerodynamic design, but also enhance vehicle safety performance by expanding driving vision.
Scania

Scania exhibited a variety of pure electric heavy trucks at the Hannover Motor Show. Currently, Scania’s heavy-duty long-distance electric trucks include four models, namely 40 R, 45 R, 40 S, and 45 S. The 40 in the name represents the motor power of 400kW, the 45 represents the motor power of 450kW, and the R and S represent that the vehicle is equipped with an R-series or S-series truck cab.

Among them, the Scania Super 460 R, which won the “German Green Truck Award”, deserves special attention. The Super 460R is equipped with a Super 13-liter engine, which can not only use diesel, but is also compatible with HVO fuel and biodiesel.
In terms of biogas, Scania’s new 13-liter truck provides customers with two options: compressed biogas (CBG) and liquefied biogas (LBG), the latter of which has a range of up to 1,800 kilometers.
In addition, the S and R series trucks equipped with Scania’s flagship power, the V8 engine, are also on display. Among them, the Scania V8 660S HVO/FAME has a maximum output power of 660 horsepower, a G33CM1 transmission, a fuel tank capacity of 1040L, and takes into account the application of biofuels.
Mann

MAN will bring its full range of models to the 2024IAA, covering diesel, pure electric and hydrogen fuel drive modes, including pure electric models MAN eTGX, eTGS, eTGL; fuel models MAN TGX, TGS, TGM; hydrogen internal combustion engine model MAN hTGX box truck; and MAN TGE, TGE Next Level Edition.

The new MAN eTGL made its global debut at the IAA. This 12-ton electric truck further improves MAN’s electric truck product portfolio and brings more efficient and environmentally friendly solutions to urban distribution.

The battery configuration of the new MAN eTGX is highly flexible, and customers can choose from three to six battery packs according to their needs. Among them, the model equipped with six battery packs can provide a maximum available battery capacity of 480 kWh and a daily range of 800 kilometers. In order to increase the charging speed, in addition to the CCS charging standard with a maximum of 375 kW, MAN also provides the megawatt charging standard (MCS) to facilitate fast charging during driving breaks.

MAN hTGX hydrogen fuel truck, as an important layout under MAN’s zero-emission strategy, will be equipped with the H45 hydrogen internal combustion engine developed based on the MAN D38 diesel engine. The vehicle is planned to be mass-produced as early as 2025 and delivered to customers in Germany, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway and some non-European countries.

MAN TGE Next Level is a new light commercial vehicle. It will be launched at IAA with a new digital cockpit and multiple safety configurations, and will perform better in terms of comfort and safety.
Sinotruk
At this year’s Hannover Motor Show, Sinotruk exhibited a total of 7 products including the Yellow River hydrogen internal combustion engine traction train, Shandeka hydrogen fuel cell tractor, Bosheng pickup, and Howo Leader pure electric light truck.

The Yellow River hydrogen internal combustion engine traction train is based on the concept of a water drop. The cab adopts a streamlined shape that imitates a water drop, with a narrow waistline in the front and wide waistline in the back (the front size of the cab is 2150mm and the rear is 2500mm). This shape forms the basis for ultra-low wind resistance. At the same time, in terms of intelligence, more than 20 active and passive drag reduction technologies such as active air intake grilles, electronic rearview mirrors, hidden door handles, and detailed fluid guidance throughout the vehicle have reduced the vehicle’s wind resistance coefficient to 0.286, saving 15% of energy and further breaking the limit of low wind resistance. The Shandeka hydrogen fuel cell tractor is equipped with a series of cutting-edge technologies such as the hydrogen fuel cell system, electric drive axle, vehicle control and speed control independently developed by China National Heavy Duty Truck. Among them, the hydrogen fuel cell system has a rated power of 300kW and a maximum efficiency of 65%; the integrated two-speed electric drive axle, each axle integrates two sets of 275kW flat-wire permanent magnet synchronous motors, the system efficiency is as high as 94.5%, the maximum total power jumps to 1100kW, and the maximum is 1475 horsepower; the hydrogen storage system, through 8 sets of 350-liter, 70MPa gas cylinders, builds a “green energy warehouse” with a total capacity of up to 2800 liters, and the cruising range can reach 1200 kilometers.

The new energy Leader Pro light truck adopts a 100kWh mid-blade battery pack design, with a 20% to 80% recharge time of 20 minutes, a drive system peak power of 140kW, and a two-speed integrated electric drive axle to achieve a 50% increase in output torque and a 10% reduction in comprehensive energy consumption.

The Bosheng pickup is equipped with Weichai Power WP2H2.0T diesel engine with a maximum power of 140kW and a peak torque of 420N·m. It is equipped with BorgWarner intelligent timely four-wheel drive system, front, middle and rear three locks, 7 driving modes, 12,500-pound electric winch, >700mm wading hose, K-MAN nitrogen shock absorber, full chassis armor, tank U-turn, creep mode and other off-road configurations, supports L2.5+ intelligent driving system, including 14 ADAS functions, and is equipped with ACC adaptive cruise function and remote control function.
Shaanxi Automobile Heavy Truck
Shaanxi Automobile Heavy Truck brought the Delong X6000 840 horsepower fuel version tractor and the Delong X6000 HYBRID version to this year’s Hannover Motor Show.

The Delong X6000 is equipped with a Weichai WP17 inline six-cylinder diesel engine with a displacement of 16.63 liters, a thermal efficiency of 52.28%, a maximum horsepower of 840 horsepower, and a peak torque of 3750 N·m. In terms of the transmission system, the Delong X6000 is equipped with a Fast 16-speed AMT. In terms of the rear axle, the Delong X6000 uses the Hande front and rear axles, which can be optionally equipped with a maintenance-free design.

In addition to the fuel version of Delong X6000, Shaanxi Automobile Heavy Truck also exhibited the hybrid version of Delong X6000 HYBRID heavy truck. In terms of power, this car is equipped with Weichai WP13 engine, with a maximum output of 560 horsepower and a peak torque of 2585N·m in the 900~1300rpm range. The rear of the engine is equipped with Fast Gear Lanchi F12HA280-2 hybrid system, which is integrated with 12-speed integrated AMT and high-power density flat wire motor. In addition, the vehicle can realize L4 high-level assisted driving function, which can cover all scenarios of ramp-highway-ramp and comprehensively improve driving efficiency.
Dongfeng Motor Corporation
Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. will bring its heavyweight models such as Dongfeng E-STAR V9 and Dongfeng E-STAR T, as well as a number of innovative technological achievements in the fields of electrification, intelligence and networking to the 2024 Hannover Motor Show.

Dongfeng E-STAR V9, as the flagship model of this exhibition, has a 11.9m³ whale max compartment, and with a reinforced load-bearing electric drive axle, it can meet various transportation needs. In terms of the “three-electric” system, the new car is equipped with Huichuan permanent magnet synchronous motor, with a maximum power of 115kW and a peak torque of 350N·m, with stronger power performance; the battery uses CATL 77kWh, 89kWh and 100kWh lithium iron phosphate batteries, and the 100kWh battery solution model has a constant speed range of up to 550km, and can quickly replenish energy, from 20% to 80% in just 0.6 hours, which can effectively alleviate long-distance range anxiety. As a new energy vehicle designed for urban logistics and short-distance transportation, Dongfeng E-STAR T has a large cargo box of up to 16m³, with a 3-ton rear axle and a 140 manganese steel truck frame to ensure strong carrying capacity. In terms of the “three electrics”, the vehicle is equipped with CATL brand lithium iron phosphate batteries and Inovance permanent magnet synchronous motors. It can travel 260km when fully loaded, meeting the needs of long-distance transportation. It has fast charging capabilities and can be charged to 80% in just 0.6 hours.
JAC Motors
JAC Motors exhibited three new energy vehicle models, including the pure electric light trucks N75EV and N42EV tailored for urban logistics and short-distance transportation, and the multi-functional passenger pickup truck T9EV.

The N42EV pure electric light truck is equipped with a 77.28kWh third-generation single-pack battery pack from CATL (expandable power: 86.55/100.46kWh), and has a full-load range of more than 220 kilometers. The vehicle uses an integrated electric drive axle, and the flat-wire motor it carries has a maximum working efficiency of 97.5%. The motor can output a maximum of 105kW and a peak torque of 300N·m. The N75EV pure electric light truck is equipped with a 100.46kWh third-generation single-pack battery from CATL, an integrated electric drive axle, and a flat-wire motor with a peak power of 180kW and a peak torque of 550N·m. The vehicle’s maximum gradeability can reach 30%. In terms of charging, the N75EV is compatible with 11kW AC and DC charging. In the case of fast charging, the battery SOC value only takes 40 minutes from 20% to 80%. In terms of endurance performance, based on 3 kilometers per kilowatt-hour of electricity, the vehicle can operate 220 kilometers with a full load. The T9 EV is built on the exclusive platform architecture of JAC Motors’ medium and large intelligent passenger pickup trucks, and uses CATL’s latest generation 88.02kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, with a range of more than 340 kilometers.
SAIC MAXUS
SAIC MAXUS’s new pickup truck eTerron9 was unveiled at the Hannover Motor Show. This car is a 4×4 four-wheel drive pickup truck built on the Interstellar GST platform, with a four-wheel drive range of up to 605 kilometers, a dual permanent magnet synchronous motor with a comprehensive peak power of 325kW, and a 0-100 acceleration performance of 5.8 seconds.

In addition, the eTerron9 is equipped with air suspension to reduce body roll and pitch and improve handling stability. The air suspension can also automatically adjust the body height according to the terrain to meet the needs of different scenarios such as reducing wind resistance, facilitating transportation, and improving passability. Coupled with the intelligent four-wheel drive system, it can adapt to more than 400 driving scenarios.
BYD

BYD (BYD) debuted its new electric commercial vehicle “E-VALI” at this year’s Hannover Motor Show. The vehicle is a 3.5t/4.25t new electric commercial vehicle designed specifically for the European market, equipped with BYD blade batteries and high-specification intelligent driving assistance functions, which can meet the “last mile” delivery needs. At the same time, BYD also unveiled the pure electric tractor EYT2.0 for the European market for the first time. This vehicle retains the offset cab and is also equipped with BYD blade batteries. It has a working time of up to 16 hours, fast and efficient charging, and is specially designed for logistics and transportation scenarios such as ports and docks.

In addition, the 7.5-ton electric medium truck ETM6 and the 19-ton electric heavy truck ETH8 were also unveiled. Both models are equipped with BYD’s platform specially developed for pure electric trucks, with a full-load range of 200 kilometers and 250 kilometers respectively, and can be used in urban logistics and urban cleaning fields.
Zhongtong Bus
As a new generation of Zhongtong’s bus product, the Zhongtong H13E pure electric intercity bus made its debut at this year’s Hannover Motor Show.

In terms of appearance, the vehicle is 13m long and nearly 3.5m high, with a 59+1 seat layout. At the same time, the vehicle architecture is based on Zhongtong’s latest generation H-series electric product platform, vehicle control system, sixth-generation energy-saving technology, integrated development of high-voltage electrical system, etc., which ensures the high reliability and low energy consumption of the product, and the vehicle’s range can reach 630km.
Xiamen Golden Dragon

Xiamen King Long made its debut at the IAA Auto Show after a lapse of ten years. The theme of the event was “Move”, and it brought together three green smart transportation products, Merry Combo, Merry Haul and Merry Van, and King Long Kunlun SEA intelligent electric integration technology.

The pure electric super highway bus Merry Combo adopts King Long Kunlun SEA intelligent electric integration technology, equipped with a new generation of high-energy-density batteries, with a range of more than 516 kilometers, a dual-motor peak torque of 4800N·m, and more powerful power. The cockpit adopts an integrated instrument panel, and the 15.6-inch central control screen integrates multiple control functions, supports multiple interactive methods such as voice, App, Bluetooth, WiFi, and supports multiple driving assistance functions.

The liquid hydrogen super heavy truck Merry Haul adopts a hydrogen-electricity sharing platform design to achieve clean transportation. The hydrogen fuel version uses liquid hydrogen energy storage technology and has a range of up to 1,000 kilometers. It has the advantages of low energy consumption, long range, excellent economy, safety and intelligence, and effectively solves the pain points of long-distance trunk transportation.

Pure electric super city distribution Merry VanMerry Van adopts wire-controlled skateboard chassis technology, integrating three electrics, suspension, braking, steering, intelligent driving system and thermal management system, and is developed in upper and lower parts. It launches three models: short-axis low-top, long-axis low-top and long-axis high-top to meet different high-frequency practical scenarios of city distribution. Among them, the short-axis version has a rated load of 1.4 tons, and the long-axis version has a rated load of 1.6 tons. In terms of power, the car is equipped with a 110kW high-power motor, and the peak torque of the wheel side can reach 2785N·m, which accelerates rapidly and overtakes easily.
Suzhou Golden Dragon

Suzhou Kinglong Higer Bus made its debut at the 2024 Hannover Motor Show, exhibiting Azure 7, a product customized for the European market. It is reported that Azure 7 is mainly used for community buses, feeder buses and point-to-point transfers, connecting major passenger flow distribution points such as communities, schools, hospitals, commercial centers, and rail transit hubs. It is an ideal choice for dredging the city’s “capillaries” and solving the “last mile” travel problem for citizens.
UFO Car
At this year’s Hannover Motor Show, Feidie Automobile exhibited a number of products including Feidie EW7, EQ2, and 3MX Mayon.

The Feidie EW7 is equipped with a 100/120/132 kWh large-capacity battery and a Hande axle (Hande 280 rear axle and 5-ton electric drive axle are available as options), which can adapt to cross-city full-load conditions and cross-city efficient delivery conditions. In terms of battery life, it adopts the design concept of fluid force, with a drag coefficient as low as 0.429Cd, and uses customized low rolling resistance tires, combined with a three-level optional kinetic energy recovery system, which further extends the battery life. The Feidie EQ2 European Edition is a pure electric mini truck that has obtained the Emark certificate and is tailored for the European urban environment. The vehicle uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor and high-specification intelligent driving assistance functions, and has excellent cargo capacity. It supports a variety of upper installation forms, such as van models or flatbed models, among which the van model has a loading space of 5.8 cubic meters.

In addition, Wuzheng Group’s star model, the Wuzheng 3MX Maiang tricycle, was also unveiled at the exhibition. The cross-frame design and strong front cantilever design ensure the vehicle’s load capacity, and the body is made of special materials, which extends the service life of the 3MX.
